The Petition

We need the government to hear our concerns. Please take the time to sign the petition and get as many of your family and friends to do the same.

To sign our petition requesting:

that the House of Representatives acts to ensure that the Labour-led Government fulfils its
election promise that “20 hours free education will be provided for three and four year olds at any licensed teacher-led service in New Zealand from July 2007” and allocates any funding
necessary to enable this to happen

It's a case of something being too good to be true. The government gained so much praise for a policy they are now squirming out of. However...this petition is a fantastic idea and a big step forward in the right direction. It's easy to ignore 'another government promise' when it doesn't involve you but this involves so many of us or people we know and would be of such great benefit. Great work, let's get it sorted!

The government will be losing many precious votes over this issue. Though they should be keeping to their word and seeing to it that the services are offered free, I personally would be happy with a "subsidised" rate so that we have at least some financial ability to send our son for his education.
